Pit Saw with Gin pole crane

I built this set of trestles to demonstrate how lumber was sawn into boards in the 18th century. The trestles are made from pine and completely disassemble for transport. The Gin pole is a 6" diameter tree 16' high, with a small limb at the top to hang the block and tackle from in order to lift the log onto the trestles. The pole is supported by three guy ropes attached to large pins driven into the ground.
