Educational Log Cabin Model

This was built to teach children, at a local historical site, how houses where constructed in the 18th Century. It is 8 feet square and about 11 feet high. I start with just the sill logs and the kids help to place all the logs, a few rafters, some of the shingles, a door & windows (not pictured), and the flooring. It takes a day to construct this model. It is very hands on and a lot of fun.
