Tables
HandCrafted in the 18th Century Manner

Desk on Frame

This desk was a popular form in commercial establishments in the 18th century. Shop owners at that time would not have sat down to do the many clerical tasks necessary to run a business, they would have stood up at a desk like this.
This desk has four compartments and four drawers with a deep well in front of them for plenty of storage. There is also a large drawer in the frame section for more storage.

Candle Stand
(Walnut with Ebony & Maple inlay shown)

This is a very common form of small occasional table, popular for many centuries. I make several versions of this table from many different species of wood. It can be made with a simple flat turned top to one like this, where the whole top has been turned down to leave a decorative turned molding at the outside edge. The table pictured has a compass inlay made from curly maple and ebony. It also has a tilting mechanism that allows you to retire the table against the wall and show off the inlay.

Tavern Table

What better way to compliment your new windsor chairs than with a period reproduction tavern table. The legs on this table are turned in a style that was used on country and informal Queen Anne furniture. The top is made from cherry with pinned bread board ends. It has a six coat finish that looks antique but uses modern finishing techniques that give it great durability and ease of use. This piece is easily adaptable to suit your needs.

Splayed Leg Table

This table works well with two chairs and is the perfect place for a game of draughts or just to relax and drink a pint with your best friend.

The top of this table is figured maple with pinned bread board ends. Not only do the splayed legs look great but they add a great deal of stability to such a small table. The result is stunning when the bottom of the table and a pair of chairs are painted a contrasting color to the maple top. This table can easily be customized to suit your needs.
