Mural Cabinet
The construction techniques suggest the original cabinet that this was copied from was built around the border area of England & Wales in the late 17th century. It was originally used to store salt and spices. It has a pierced and carved center door panel with vine & bead border around the edges. The sides are one piece bent around in a semi-circle and nailed to the bottom board. It is stained and finished to give an aged appearance.

Riven red oak with pine bottom board and quarter split top board held on with snipe hinges. The carving on the front panel consists of opposing lunettes, a common pattern on boxes, drawer fronts and framed members on 17th century work. It also has incise carving on the lid with Maltese cross punch marks to match the smaller ones in the Fleur-De-Lis shapes on the front. Dark brown color with oil/varnish and wax finish.

It has a gouge cut carved pattern on the front and sides with incise carving on the lid. Warm dark brown color with oil/varnish and wax finish.

Carved Walnut box
Simple construction is common on these 17th century boxes, rabbeted corners secured with wooden pegs, nailed on single width bottom board and snipe hinges to connect the one pice lid. The lunette carving pattern comes from a group of boxes from Braintree, Massachusetts. A handmade lock and hasp finish off this box.

Miniature Blanket chest
This is a reproduction of a William and Mary period (1730) one drawer blanket chest with two false drawers. Applied moldings set off the three drawers. The sides of the case are dovetailed to the bottom and the box is supported by turned feet. The primary wood is walnut and the secondary wood is poplar. It has a hand rubbed oil/varnish finish.
